Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the mashed bananas.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, gently stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts or chocolate chips on top. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
Notes
- For extra moisture and flavor, consider adding a splash of milk or Greek yogurt to the batter.
- If desired, fold in 1/2 cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips before baking for added texture.
- This banana bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature or frozen for up to 3 months.
