Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter and stir well. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, flour, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, avoiding overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy your irresistible moist banana bread warm or at room temperature, topped with butter, cream cheese, or your favorite nut spread.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moistness.
- You can add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
