- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, sliced thin
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and add milk. Bring to a simmer.
- Layer sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, season with salt and pepper, then top with cooked beef mixture.
- Pour the milk mixture over the layers and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers.
- Replace cheddar with mozzarella or a mix of your favorite cheeses.
