  • 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry or homemade dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pastry dough on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into 1-inch circles using a cookie cutter or glass.
  4. Place circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Spoon a small amount of cheese into the center of each circle.
  6. Fold the edges slightly to create a thumbprint shape, pinching gently to seal the cheese inside.
  7. Brush the edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and immediately dollop hot pepper jelly into the center of each thumbprint.
  10. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.
