Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips or chopped milk chocolate
- Orange and green royal icing for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- Form dough into small balls and flatten slightly. Place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden. Allow to cool.
- Fill cooled cookies with melted milk chocolate or insert chocolate chips while still warm to create a gooey center.
- Decorate with orange icing for the jack-o’-lantern face, and green icing for stems, using piping bags or brushes. Let decorators set before serving.
Notes
- Ensure chocolate is melted but not too hot to avoid over-softening cookies.
- You can use store-bought royal icing for quick decorating.
