Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1 lettuce head, shredded
  • 1 ripe tomato, sliced
  • Pickles
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil or butter for toasting

Instructions

  1. Preheat skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until crispy and cooked through.
  4. In the last minute, add cheese slices on top of each patty to melt.
  5. Toast burger buns with butter until golden brown.
  6. Assemble burgers: place lettuce on bottom bun, add patty with melted cheese, then tomato slices, pickles, and top with the other bun.
