Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Pour heavy cream into the skillet, scraping up browned bits. Stir in Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into the sauce, if using.
- Return shrimp to the skillet, coat with sauce, and cook for an additional minute. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or freshly chopped herbs.
- To make it dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free cheese alternatives.
- Serve with pasta, zucchini noodles, or rice for a complete meal.
