- 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups spinach leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until soft and fragrant.
- Return sausage to the pot. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Add spinach leaves and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot with crusty bread if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute spinach with kale or Swiss chard for different greens.
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
