- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Set up a breading station: place flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned bread crumbs in separate shallow dishes.
- Coat each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then bread crumbs mixed with Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Place breaded chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Remove from oven, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, add grated Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Serve with spaghetti or a side salad for a complete meal.
