Ingredients
Scale
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the remaining sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Serve warm or store for make-ahead breakfast.
Notes
- To store, let the rolls cool completely, then refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- To reheat, warm in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or microwave for 20 seconds.
