  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the remaining sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Serve warm or store for make-ahead breakfast.
