- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup or cream of chicken

Instructions
- Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey along with the diced onion. Cook until browned and translucent. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup with sour cream. Stir in half of the shredded cheese.
- Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly in a greased baking dish. Pour the creamy mixture over the meat. Arrange the frozen tater tots on top in an even layer. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the tater tots.
- Place the assembled casserole in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy and golden brown. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness if desired.
