- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: chopped scallions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your baking dish.
- Cook ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook until softened. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Spread cooked meat mixture evenly in the baking dish. Pour the creamy mixture over the meat. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Layer frozen tater tots evenly over the cheese layer.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until tater tots are crispy and golden brown.
