Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup high-quality balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for added sweetness)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
- Red pepper flakes (optional for a spicy kick)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the balsamic vinegar and honey (if using), then bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the glaze over, and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until fully cooked (internal temperature 165°F).
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley before serving. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- Use a high-quality balsamic vinegar for the best flavor.
- Flatten the chicken breasts slightly for even cooking.
- Let the chicken rest a few minutes after cooking to retain juices.
- Adjust the sweetness and acidity to your taste with honey or additional vinegar.
