Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, salt, eggs, and melted butter to the yeast mixture, stirring well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Fold in dried cranberries and nuts if using.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf or braid.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
