- 1 baguette or crusty bread loaf
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into thin slices and bake for 8-10 minutes until crispy.
- In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange zest, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst and mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Let cool.
- Spread softened cream cheese on each crispy bread slice.
- Top with a spoonful of cranberry compote and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- Arrange on a platter and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a smoother cranberry spread, blend the cooked cranberries before spreading.
- Can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before serving.
