Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the potatoes thinly and set aside.
- Slice the smoked sausage into rounds and prepare the ranch seasoning as per package instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Toss the sliced potatoes in this mixture until evenly coated.
- Layer the seasoned potatoes in a greased baking dish, then add the smoked sausage slices on top.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes to allow cheese to bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Optionally, add extra cheese or sour cream for additional flavor.
Notes
- Can be assembled the day before; refrigerate, then bake when ready.
- Substitute smoked sausage with cooked bacon, ham, or chicken sausage.
- For low-carb or keto options, replace potatoes with cauliflower slices or zucchini.
- Adjust salt and seasoning to taste.
