  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the potatoes thinly and set aside.
  2. Slice the smoked sausage into rounds and prepare the ranch seasoning as per package instructions.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Toss the sliced potatoes in this mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Layer the seasoned potatoes in a greased baking dish, then add the smoked sausage slices on top.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the top, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes to allow cheese to bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Optionally, add extra cheese or sour cream for additional flavor.

Notes

  • Can be assembled the day before; refrigerate, then bake when ready.
  • Substitute smoked sausage with cooked bacon, ham, or chicken sausage.
  • For low-carb or keto options, replace potatoes with cauliflower slices or zucchini.
  • Adjust salt and seasoning to taste.
