Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package store-bought pie crusts (or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and fit into a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Pour apple filling into the crust and cover with the second crust or lattice pattern.
