Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for a gluten-free option
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional but recommended)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil or coconut oil
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and sear until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Adjust the sweetness or spice level to your preference by adding more honey or chili sauce.
- Add the cooked chicken to the skillet or a baking dish, then pour the sweet chili mixture over it. Toss to evenly coat all the pieces with the flavorful glaze.
- For a quick stovetop finish, cook for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Alternatively, place the dish in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for 10-15 minutes for a tender, caramelized finish.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, coat chicken in cornstarch before searing.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving for added flavor and presentation.
- Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for juicier results.
