Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the water and butter to a boil. Remove from heat and add flour and salt, stirring vigorously until a dough forms. Let cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until smooth.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip or a plastic bag with a cut corner. Pipe small bites onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with non-stick spray.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the churro bites for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll the baked bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Serve warm and enjoy your homemade baked churro delights.
Notes
- Cool the dough slightly before adding eggs to prevent curdling.
- Use a star piping tip for traditional churro shape or experiment with different shapes.
- For extra crunch, bake an additional few minutes, but keep an eye to prevent burning.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to enhance flavor.
