Perfect for keto and low-carb diets, this hearty dish offers comforting flavors with a healthy twist, making it ideal for family dinners or make-ahead meals.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped pickles (optional for that classic cheeseburger flavor)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh lettuce or additional cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook bacon until crispy, crumble and set aside. Sauté diced onions until translucent.
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned and drain excess grease.
  3. Mix the cooked beef, sautéed onions, crumbled bacon, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream in a bowl. Stir in most of the shredded cheddar cheese, saving some for topping.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for crispy edges.
  5. Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped pickles or fresh lettuce if desired. Enjoy your flavorful low-carb bacon cheeseburger casserole.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sliced tomatoes or avocado on top before serving.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a different protein.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or oven before serving.
