Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup chopped pickles (optional for that classic cheeseburger flavor)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream or sour cream
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh lettuce or additional cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook bacon until crispy, crumble and set aside. Sauté diced onions until translucent.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef or turkey over medium heat. Add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned and drain excess grease.
- Mix the cooked beef, sautéed onions, crumbled bacon, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream in a bowl. Stir in most of the shredded cheddar cheese, saving some for topping.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for crispy edges.
- Let sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped pickles or fresh lettuce if desired. Enjoy your flavorful low-carb bacon cheeseburger casserole.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sliced tomatoes or avocado on top before serving.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a different protein.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or oven before serving.
