- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef broth
- 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until cooked through.
- Transfer beef mixture to the crockpot and add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the pasta and cook until tender.
- Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese just before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free version.
- Top with grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
