  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the onion until translucent (3-4 minutes).
  4. Add ground beef, garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned (8-10 minutes). Drain excess fat and set aside.
  5. Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Top with remaining potato slices. Pour milk or cream over the dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese bubbles and is golden. Garnish with parsley before serving.
