Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk or cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the onion until translucent (3-4 minutes).
- Add ground beef, garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until browned (8-10 minutes). Drain excess fat and set aside.
- Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.

Notes
- For a creamier texture, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Mix in vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for variety.
- To make it dairy-free, substitute cheese with plant-based alternatives and use almond or soy milk.
- Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Can be frozen for up to 3 months for meal prepping.
