Instructions

  1. Cook bacon slices until crispy, drain excess grease, crumble into small pieces, and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, simmer maple syrup and bourbon until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  3. Warm the milk to about 110°F, add yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar, and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  4. In a large bowl, combine remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and activated yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and salt, knead until smooth.
  5. Cover and let dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll into a 12×8 inch rectangle.
  7. Brush with butter, add cinnamon-sugar filling, sprinkle with crumbled bacon, and drizzle with bourbon glaze.
