Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, diced

- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions

- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the diced potatoes and cook until they start to soften, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked potatoes, smoked sausage, ranch seasoning, sour cream, milk, and butter. Mix gently until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if desired.
Notes
- For quicker preparation, boil or microwave potatoes before baking.
- Use gluten-free ranch seasoning for a gluten-free version.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or additional shredded cheese for extra flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or oven.
