- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the cooked beef mixture to the crockpot. Add crushed tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Add broken lasagna noodles during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Cover and cook until noodles are tender.
- Once cooked, stir in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses until melted and creamy.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef to make it lighter.
- For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes or a splash of red wine during cooking.
