- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

- 1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
- Blue food coloring
- Chocolate chips for eyes
- Mini chocolate chips for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat softened butter, shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract; beat well.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Mix in blue food coloring until dough is vibrant.
- Using a cookie scoop, form balls and place on baking sheet.
- Press chocolate chips into the dough to create eyes, attaching mini chocolate chips as pupils if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on racks before serving.
Notes
- For extra fun, add sprinkles or candy eyes.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes for easier handling.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
