Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, carrots)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • Fresh green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and marinate with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit while preparing vegetables.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef for 2-3 minutes, then stir-fry until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  4. Return beef to the pan. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and a pinch of sugar. Cook for 2 more minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
