- 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, carrots)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- Fresh green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain and marinate with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit while preparing vegetables.
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear beef for 2-3 minutes, then stir-fry until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until tender yet crisp.
- Return beef to the pan. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and a pinch of sugar. Cook for 2 more minutes to combine flavors.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
