- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, vanilla, salt, and bring to a boil.
- Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until dough forms a ball and pulls away from sides of the pan.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe strips onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping them into bite-sized pieces.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Meanwhile, mix 1/2 cup sugar with 2 tsp cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Once baked, immediately roll hot churro bites in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
- Serve warm with chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure the dough is piping hot for easy piping.
- For extra crunch, broil for 2 minutes at the end.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
