Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle.
- Spread sweet cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Layer currant jam over the cheese, then roll tightly into a log.
- Slice into 12 pieces and place on a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
