- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix flour and cornstarch in a bowl. Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Fry chicken in batches until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and orange zest. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Toss fried chicken with the orange sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispy chicken, double coat in flour mixture before frying.
- You can substitute honey with agave syrup for vegan option.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
