- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply caramelized, about 25 minutes.
- Spread caramelized onions evenly over the pizza crust.
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyere and Parmesan cheese over the onions.
- Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
- Remove from oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve hot.

- For extra flavor, add a splash of balsamic vinegar during caramelization.
- You can substitute with other cheeses like Swiss or mozzarella if preferred.
